"Melissa narrated the core training video for the animal care team at our wildlife hospital. She not only delivered a stellar product, but she was also incredibly easy to work with. She's dramatically raised the bar for what we expect, and we look forward to engaging her for future content."

-Bob Figlock, Volunteer Engagement Manager, The Marine Mammal Center

Happy Clients

"I've hired Melissa several times and she is a true professional.  She can rip through dense

copy with the greatest of ease and always finds a way to give it some personality."

Born in Florida to a military family

(my dad flew F-14s, just like in Top Gun!) I grew up dividing my time between Northern Virginia and Southern California. I quickly realized that math sucked no matter where you were in the world. Luckily, dance and theatre are global languages that spoke to me at an early age.

The journey to becoming an actor

was strewn with amazing life experiences starting with my dad doing my make-up for ballet recitals and my mother making the papier-mâché turkey for the local production of A Christmas Carol. It crystallized when I saw Cats on Broadway at the age of 13. When I found myself standing on stage at intermission, my head nearly exploded! I hurried back to my seat and told my parents I wanted to be an actor. The first thing they said was “How can we help?” I haven’t looked back since.

When creating  a character,

whether for film or voiceover,  I get to go to that special place where I must find my way into the mind and heart of a different person and that’s where the magic happens! Friends describe me as  warm, joyful, and loving. Clients describe me as reliable, fun and they love my conversational style and the smile I can bring to a read.

When I’m not working,

I manage a wonderful group of volunteers who rescue, rehabilitate and, ultimately, release sick and injured marine mammals.
